Finance Associate (Part-Time)

Job description

In order to support the exponential growth ahead of us we are looking to add a part-time Finance Associate position to our current team of sixty people. The new team member will be instrumental in scaling Nextail’s operations as we build one of the leading software companies in Europe, backed by the number one VC fund in Spain according to Dealroom.


The Finance Associate position will work under the supervision of the CFO and Finance Manager and will support the Finance and Administration processes at Nextail.

In particular, the Finance Associate will, among others, be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and preparing support financial documentation to,
    • Support Nextail's daily financial, accounting and reporting processes (analysis, invoicing, expense reporting, accounts receivables management, etc.)
    • Help in the implementation of a new accounting software for the company
    • Prepare periodic company financial KPI dashboards
    • Support financing and grants applications from public institutions
    • Support the senior Finance leadership team
    • Responsible for the financial administration of the company Headquarters, located in Madrid, Spain
    • Other accounting projects as needed

Work will be performed primarily out of the Madrid office, with the possibility for occasional remote work allowed.

You bring

  • You have experience in accounting and are interested in working in a fast-paced start-up. You are tech-savvy and are passionate about the start-up scene.
  • You are systematic, disciplined, and obsessed with being smarter about the way you do things.
  • You have very strong interpersonal skills and exercise discretion and a high level of confidentiality. You possess strong time management and organization skills.
  • You are a trustworthy and rock-solid team player, able to demonstrate a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. You are a proactive and independent worker with proven ability to work well with others.
  • You have relevant office/computer skills, in particular MS Office package, and general knowledge of accounting processes in Spain.
  • You are fluent in Spanish and English (other languages is a plus) and are interested in working in an international company. English is the company language, but within the team we speak altogether some 16 languages (counting both those of humans and computers).
